Harry Potter franchise crosses $7 bn at global box office

 With “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” still in the first week of its record-breaking run, the Harry Potter film franchise has now crossed the $7 billion mark worldwide, and counting. The announcement was made today by Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Group.

Harry Potter' Soars Past $200M

On Tuesday, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 rocketed past the $200 million mark in just five days. The only other movies to hit $200 million in five days were The Dark Knight and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Though its total climbed to a whopping $202.6 million, Deathly Hallows Part 2 didn't break the five-day opening gross record. It fell short of The Dark Knight's $203.8 million five-day haul,
